Analog controls don't provide the precision you need for many of the Atari 5200 digital games. Why do think they abandoned it after the 5200?

Analog joysticks can have inconsistent control due to dead zones, snapback. The joystick may float between two digital fields, causing the character to receive the wrong directional input.
- There's too much throw on an analog stick and the feel is too mushy for it to be any use.
- It was not cost effective to produce with new parts. I attempted to design and Analog joystick in 2020 and it was not cost effective, so I chose an approach that just works for most Atari 5200 games.
